Description:

I was recently upgrading one platform-based project to upcoming 5.0.1 releases and it seems, that too many fields are hidden from admin during section editing (when in simple mode interface).
I've attached proposed variant of fields, to be shown for categories grid/edit (new site config). Please discuss this with Andrew and tell what to do. |

1. I couldn't get your "categories_c.php" file working on my end - not sure why. I see you have enabled some field for "Simple" system_preset, but some fields are in questions.
In your case you are talking about Intechnic.lv project or where exactly you came across these fields?
2. Strange I can't replicate the same - can you please more specific how to replicate the same on my end.

1. about hidden fields: I would like to show Template, ExternalUrl, UseExternalUrl, FriendlyURL, MenuTitle (Description field is project-specific, and I really don't want it to be visible by default), but ability to change design template for user is really important.
2. about regional: remove debug.php (maybe rename to debug.php_), in site config make "Regional" section always visible and enter administrative console and visit this section as administrator user (not root). If you look closely, then there is obvious, that all toolbar buttons are hidden by mistake. Why else we hide section and each toolbar button individually. |

1. We have discussed changes for proposed fields for Sections and we agree to include the following in "Simple" system preset:
- ExternalUrl
- UseExternalUrl
- FriendlyURL
Note that the following fields are NOT required by most of the projects and will only complicate things for US projects by giving us MORE questions when we don't need them:
- Template
- Description
- MenuTitle
These fields will be excluded for now, but we are ready to reconsider the list once we have more feedback from the Projects. |
